New heroes are born every day. Empowered and enabled, they transcend the ordinary by believing in something different, something better. They are on a journey–maybe it’s the effort alone that makes them remarkable.
Grapefruit and champagne are self-assured, clear cut flavors that rush forward in the first moments of Remarkable People to greet the wearer. While grapefruit is bittersweet and refreshingly floral, champagne is full of malic-acid, sluicing potency yet tempered by a rich, briochey bloom. Together these notes create a top that is transparent and buoyant, a golden curtain through which cardamom emerges. As it emanates from these tart, mouth-watering opening notes, cardamom appears remarkably solid, a sweet, hot-cold aroma that is endlessly multi-dimensional.
Soon, cardamom’s spicy infinity infuses the strong, supple textures of jasmine. Jasmine is not indolic, but deeply earthen, creamy and dense. A seemingly indecipherable flower, and yet, with cardamom preceding and an insurgent cumin succeeding it, jasmine diffuses into a soft, effervescent, easy texture. Black pepper and labdanum mimic this process of dissolution, a smoky, potent metaphor for transforming seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
Sandalwood and lorenox are stable objects at the end of Remarkable People, two divergent textures that form a solid, clear-cut finish. Sandalwood is terrifically green, a hopeful prospect of renewal and change: lorenox is a time capsule, an echo of the evolution of this scent, that is nonetheless fluid and alive. Etat Libre D’Orange’s Remarkable People is a salute, an uplifting, ever-shifting scent that evokes the sweet prospect of change.
